  Spypoint Scouting Cameras

We take our hunting very seriously but let's face it, no one has time to be in the woods 24 hours a day for 7 days a week scouting your properties to find inventory the deer using your property and to learn where and when they are moving. There's only one solution to this problem and that is the use of trail cameras. We used Spypoint scouting cameras this year with great success. Check out our Trail Camera Gallery to see some of the best pictures we got this year and to check out the quality of pictures that Spypoint cameras take.

We used the Spypoint IR-B 5.0 MP model with the optional lithium battery and solar panel. Using up to 2GB SD cards, we were able to leave these cameras in the woods for weeks and months at a time without having to check them for fear of dead batteries or full cards. Even in the coldest winter months the solar panels kept our batteries charged unless the panels got covered in heavy snow or the cloud cover was really heavy for many days on end. The confidence of knowing that your cameras will keep running is a great asset. Not having to check them every week means less disturbance to the area so your deer don't feel pressured and it also saves time and money that you would otherwise spend running back and forth to your hunting properties.
The cameras have one of the easiest control panels we've ever used. Most of the controls are simple switches that make it easy to set up even in the dark. The LCD screen shows the date and time, the number of pictures taken and the battery power remaining so you'll never be left wondering when your camera is going to run out.
Video mode allows you to take video clips from 10 seconds up to 90 seconds and still photo's can be taken in single mode or in bursts up to 4. We found this feature very useful to get multiple pictures of the same deer which helps in identify antler points or body characteristics.
A USB Port allows you to plug the camera straight into your computer to download pictures off the internal memory or the card but best of all, Spypoint posts upgrades on their website to the software in their cameras so you can take advantage of these upgrades right from the comfort of your own home. Just plug your camera into your computer, download the upgrade, follow the simple steps to install and you're done! No more shipping cameras back to the manufacturer because of problems...many problems can be fixed by installing the latest upgrade. This is a really great feature that we commend Spypoint for having!
Spypoint has added a lot of great looking new cameras to their line-up in 2009 so go to their website and check them out. www.spy-point.com
